Mr Fernando Tomás M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering, Polytechnic Centre of the University of Zaragoza (Spain). Since joining Idom in 2001, Fernando has developed his professional career in the Telecommunications Area. He is currently responsible for the Idom Group of Smart City Experts.
Certified from the Project Management Institute, he has carried out the role of project director/manager on many telecommunication and tele-control and data acquisition projects. He has directed or participated in his capacity as expert in studies such as the Strategic Plan: Smart City Pamplona (Spain); Best Practices and State of the Art Technology Report on Smart Cities for the Association of Spanish Energy Management Agencies (EnerAgen); the Master Plan for Telecommunications Infrastructure in the region of Aragon (Spain); the pilot project “Wireless Sensor Network to support experimentation and applications within the Smart Santander Project” the Telecom part of the Urbanization Project of Technological District “Digital Mile” in Zaragoza (Spain), the Master Plan of Sustainable Mobility in Aguascalientes (México), or the Specification and Project Management of the deployment of a city wide public access Wifi Network for Zaragoza (Spain).
Fernando actively participates in technological-social forums and he is extremely proactive in the promotion of the advances being made in the field of Smart Cities, regularly participating in conferences as a guest speaker.
