Selim Kervanci has received a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Istanbul Techincal University and also has an MBA from Vrije Universiteit de Brussel in Belgium. He joined HSBC in 1996 as a management trainee in Corporate Banking and Capital Markets.

He was involved in the establishment of Commercial Banking activities of the bank in addition to managing relationships with large conglomerates. In 2001, he became the Head of Financial Institutions and Structured Finance Department. In 2005 he became Head of Investment Banking which also included M&A and Equity Capital Markets in addition to his previous responsibilities and in 2010 he then became the Head of Banking and Capital Financing HSBC Turkey which covers Financial Institutions, Multinationals, Debt Finance as well as M&A Advisory and Equity Capital Markets.

He became the Head of Capital Financing MENA and Turkey in October 2014 being responsible for the banks equity and debt related primary products. He has been involved in both the origination and execution of numerous investment banking transactions.

Since 1st July 2016, he is the CEO of HSBC Turkey and has been promoted to Group General Manager in 2018.

Selim is married and has two sons.
